Scott McIntyre of Dutch ISP XS4all talks to Risky Business about his battle against VoIP fraudsters.

Between high-toll fraud and calling card scams, there's a number of ways fraudsters can turn your VoIP gateway into a source of cash for them, and misery for you.

Let's solve Voice Fraud on VoIP, TDM, or Hybrid networks

EDITOR'S NOTE: Hey there, VoIP spammy guy. This is flagrant spam. I've deleted your company name and URL from your comment, and if you ever post something like this again I'll delete your account. If you have anything meaningful to contribute to this forum I'm all ears, but this marketing drivel doesn't help anyone... except you.

Thank you for raising awareness of voice security issues. While user education is always desirable, there is much more help, including new cost effective solutions that provide enterprise-wide, real-time voice security and usage enforcement from a central console over globally distributed voice networks, whether VoIP, TDM, or hybrid.

Long ago, enterprises recognized the imperative for firewalls and other security applications on every Internet Protocol link between their internal networks and public networks. Now, leading commercial and government enterprises are recognizing a new imperative for voice security solutions on connections to the public telephone network to provide unified business intelligence with real-time usage enforcement to:

> Detect/prevent Toll fraud
> Stop computer network attacks via phone system attacks
> Stop data leakage out of the enterprise via faxes and modems
> Detect/prevent social-engineering-via-contact-center-phone-fraud
> Stop unmonitored Internet sessions by employees who dial out via modems to Internet accounts
> Monitor/control harassing and threatening calls
> Improve voice up-time via real-time monitoring of voice trunk health/status, including source of problems (enterprise CPE or Carrier devices)
> Policy-driven recording of targeted calls for compliance, safety and forensics

We are working with industry leaders, like YYYY and ZZZZZ, to equip enterprises with new voice security solutions that are essential to securing the ENTIRE enterprise network - including data and voice.

NOTE: COMPANY NAME DELETED

thanks!

Thanks for that, changlinn... that's exactly how I see it.

Pipes was actually just having a bit of fun with his forum post. He pwned Risky.Biz pretty hard in an informal pentest last week...

That's his effective way of getting his message on this site... fresh 0day.

Longpipes is long!

There are so many Business VoIP providers out now especially with the popularity of asterisk we settled with one after comparing a couple and pretty happy with their services.
