In this week's feature interview we're chatting with Silvio Cesare.

Silvio's an extremely well regarded infosec guy down here in Oz. He'll be chatting to us about his experience in academia. Silvio argues much criticism of academia in industry largely misses the point, and academia actually serves infosec quite well. Cryptography anyone?

Security, No Greater Challenge

Patrick, I just want to say that you do an amazing job on this podcast. You and Adam, and your fresh and straight forward perspective on security, have become the highlight of my week.

Working in IT Security is a completely thankless job. In the one year that I have been working in Vulnerability Management, I think I have pretty much pissed of f just about everyone. Luckily, I developed a very thick skin against verbal lash-back from working 5 years in the restaurant biz. I have to say though, I enjoy the challenge of trying to bring order to complete chaos.

P.S. You should make T-shirts, “How risky is your business?” I would buy it :-)

May Lulz steer clear of your sec…

Thanks for the Lulz

Patrick, LOVED this podcast. I'm not a techie but maybe I wish I were.

I came here for the Lulz.

#203 loved the lead in, now I know you get it. I've been fascinated with what LulzSec has done, they seem to be doing this as you said, as a form of protest.

LulzSec also does show how feeble internet security is, well anyway the hacker has the advantage over the defender.

LulzSec hacking the Sun really is ironic. LulzSec did it for the lulz, and the Sun did it for profit and to spread misery, and sell more papers.

While to info sec experts, these hacks may not amaze, to the average layperson it is amazing to see, especially when some of these folks are so young.

Look forward to next podcast! Oh and the captcha is alot easier to read this week. :)
